Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI or LIS)
Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI or LIS) provides coverage for damages or injuries you may cause to another person or their property while operating a rental vehicle. The liability coverage provided by the rental car company can be none at all or as low as the state minimum requirement. SLI coverage may also be considerably more than the coverage provided by your personal or business policies. Coverage is valid for rentals in the United States, except rentals that commenced in New York. You are permitted to drive in Canada if the rental was picked up in the United States. The policy provides you with:- Up to of auto liability coverage;
- Coverage for damage or injuries you cause to another person or their property. It is subject to the same conditions and limitations as the rental agreement and any other underlying insurance.
