4x4 Rental Car Excess Reduction
The following list is useful for determining what is excluded from the excess reduction policies offered by 4x4 hire companies. If you have taken out excess reduction the following exclusions mean that you would still be required to pay the cost of repairs to your rented 4WD in full (up to the standard liability). RentalCover however covers the claim types listed (subject to the policy terms which can be viewed when you request a quote).

4x4 Excess Coverage Australia & New Zealand

It's only available with Liability Reduction Option 2, The Almighty, or Bonus Pack, and costs $99 per rental. Bond stays the same: $250 for motorhomes/campervans, $500 for 4WDs. Easy Cover Plus is a 4WD-only option. If you've purchased Liability Reduction Option 2, The Almighty, or Bonus Pack, a one-off payment of AU$350 per hire reduces your accident liability to $0 and covers accidental damage to the overhead and underbody sections of the 4WD campervan, unlimited tyre and windscreen cover, towing and recovery costs on permitted 4WD roads (Britz approval required), and single vehicle rollover damage. It can only be purchased at the rental desk on vehicle collection. |
