What is this?

After your trip has ended, your rental company will provide you with a document showing the final charges if any damage to the vehicle is identified This can be called a demand letter, demand invoice or final invoice and will typically include the total amount charged for vehicle repairs, and any additional fees associated with the incident, such as loss of use, administrative fees, diminished value, and recovery or storage charges.

Please note that this is different from the repair invoice, as it may include additional charges from the rental company, such as administration fees or loss of use charges. You can request this document from your rental company if you don’t have it.

Why is it needed?

During a claim assessment, we need to verify the damage charges (i.e. repair costs and applicable fees). The documents you provide as proof help us to do so.
